Florida ALAS is dedicated to empowering parents and students and expediting services for them. We understand that parent and student support is crucial.
Florida ALAS also advocates for the teaching of the highest academic standards for students and is committed to closing the gap in the achievement of Latino students and other underrepresented minorities.
To achieve these ambitious goals, Florida ALAS sponsors and supports programs and activities that promote student achievement and parental support and provide avenues for Latino students and parents to become knowledgeable and engaged in K-12 and post-secondary educational opportunities and options available to them.
La Universidad Si Se Puede!
Florida ALAS sponsors La Universidad Si Se Puede!, a program intended to equip and empower Latino families with the tools and information needed to ensure college and career readiness.
With a large focus on post-secondary goals, the program includes symposiums and informative events which address topics such as how to successfully graduate from high school, what is required for students to transition into college, parental support, how to apply for financial aid, how to overcome educational and cultural obstacles, and much more!
